Welcome, Avid Listeners.

Does listening to audiobooks count as reading? Here it does. Let’s discuss your favorite reads — or listens.

2022: My Year In Books

2022: My Year In Books

Well, readers, we’ve made it to the end of another year, and honestly, this one wasn’t the best. Personal and professional challenges took a toll, but through it all books remained a respite and comfort.

It’s not surprising that in a year of turmoil I hit a few reading and blogging milestones:

  • Attempted more than 100 books — 102 to be exact — and only abandoned one read (although I should’ve given up on several others)

  • The most physical (and digital) books read in a year with 31. This doesn’t account for 10 hybrid read/listens, which is quickly becoming a new favorite way to tackle longer reads

  • 70,000+ words written and triple-digit growth in visitors to this website. I cannot thank you all enough for the ongoing support

Also worth noting is that with the increase in quantity of reads, the quality was remarkably high. It shows that the more you read, the better you become at picking out books that will resonate with you.

My wish for all of you next year is that the good outweighs the bad — especially when it comes to reading.

Thanks for stopping by,

My Year in Books

Reviews for each of these books can be found on this website, and I’ll post a summary of the best and worst reads and listens from this list over the next few days. Thanks to Goodreads for, once again, doing the design work for me!
